Donate to the PHA

The PHA continues to work to support public health action in Aotearoa New Zealand.

As an independent voice for public health, we speak out on health issues that affect New Zealanders - from climate change to sugary drinks to housing. 

Our members are active in communities across New Zealand, engaging with decision-makers, influencing policy, building skills and delivering public health events.

We’ve increased our communications, strengthened partnerships across the sector, diversified our workshops and forums to gather share and learn – and done all this without increasing our membership fees or finding a generous patron.  

Please consider making a regular donation to the PHA.

Your generous donation will help us:

• deliver extra policy workshops and other forums for debate - increasing our ability to influence healthy public policy
  
• increase our output on significant policy issues - ensuring a public health lens is applied to legislation
  
• provide scholarships for students or deserving public health activists - such as our former Tu Rangatira mo te Ora recipients - to attend national or overseas conferences
  
• engage someone to write the history of the PHA - demonstrating our long term impact on the wellbeing of New Zealanders
  
• and keep our staff salaries up with the CPI - enabling us to continue to employ staff to support our work and our members.

You can also make a regular donation to the PHA through Payroll Giving. If your employer does not offer Payroll Giving, you can donate through a Give-A-Little Individual Plan or via Direct Debit.

Please email us to request a Direct Debit form. Donors who choose to pay by Direct Debit will receive a tax receipt at the end of the financial year.

Leaving a bequest to the PHA

You may choose to leave a bequest to the PHA to acknowledge the work we do. Leaving us a gift in your will can help to ensure our work will benefit future generations.

Leaving a gift in your will can be a monetary amount, a percentage of the estate, or a residual amount – a percentage of what is left after family and debts are taken care of. Most people choose to leave a residual percentage to a number of charities they support. Your lawyer will be able to help you with the wording for your will if you are considering leaving a bequest to the PHA.
